After giving speech at Parliament of the World’s
Religions (1893) in Chicago, when Swami Vivekananda went down from stage, one
pretty young lady stood up from assembly as she was so excited to meet Swami
Vivekananda.
She
told- Swami ji, your thoughts and ideas have completely affected my mind. My
heart has great regard and respect for you such that I love you so much from my
soul. I request you to marry me.
Swami Vivekananda’s face was shining brightly, he
asked– Young Lady, why do you want to marry me?
On this, young lady quickly replied- So that I would
get opportunity to become mother of high-spirited child like you.
Swami Vivekananda went near to that young lady, touched
her feet and said- Now from today onwards I’m your son and you are my mother.
Give blessings to your son so that he could always do social service in his
life.
By listening this, young lady got speechless and her
faith towards Swami Vivekananda increased to higher level.
Dear friends, The lesson we learn from this short
incident is that we should do each and every possible effort to build our
character as high as Swami Vivekananda’s character. Which society has like
these principle-valued people that nation and society
always progress. Thank You.
