Once upon a time, King Nicolas was worried by seeing
increased wealth and happiness of his neighbouring kingdom.
One day, on visiting his garden, he noticed that the
flowers were not blown like they used to be. King Nicolas was anxious to know
the reason behind it. He asked about sadness to each flower and one-by-one
questioned them.
Firstly, Jasmine’s flower said- I am very weak because
I don’t have big leaves as that of Hibiscus.
King watched towards Hibiscus, which was also bending
his neck.
Hibiscus’s Flower said- I am fed-up because it is very
difficult to handle these big leaves which spread all around me. My leaves are
not dense like Marigold.
On other side, Marigold was also sad, it said- My
leaves are small and its stem is also not powerful like that of Rose.
Rose was also fed-up, it said- I’m in trouble due to the
thorns on my stem.
In some way, all the flowers were woeful.
Then, king saw lake, in which one big and beautiful Lotus
flower was blooming; looking fresh and calm.
King surprisingly asked Lotus- This is very amazing! I
have swan around whole garden, but all beautiful and wonderful
flowers are sad. You are surrounded by water from all sides, don’t you feel any
pain? You are looking so happy, what’s the reason behind it?
Lotus replied- Majesty! Instead of looking
their positivity’s, all flowers are comparing themselves with others so they
are sad. Whereas I think, if I have taken birth in this garden, then I will do
every possible effort in order to make this garden beautiful by my qualities.
That’s why instead of comparing with others, I do best effort according to my
capability to become noble and lives happily.
Listening
to Lotus, all flowers realised their mistakes. At a moment they recognized
their importance and decided to spread freshness in whole garden through their qualities.
King
Nicolas also felt great pleasure by listening this; and decided not to waste
time and energy in comparing his abilities with other kingdoms; but should
think for development and progress of his kingdom.
Dear
friends, Normally we get upset and sad while comparing ourselves with
others, due to which our efficiency of doing work gets disturbed. We should
remember that all human beings have their own capabilities and talents; by
comparison with others, we should not ignore our inner qualities. Comparison
isn’t bad, but if it is in a good way which refines our weakness, but if it
mortifies or humiliates others then we inherit jealousy, insecurity and
sombreness which obstruct our path to success. Instead of comparing with others,
you have to see your positive points and let enhance them. Thank You.
