Costly Medicines

This story is based on a true incident, according to which, Jim was the only child of his parents, who belonged to a wealthy family. He was given much love and care, and his small mistakes were neglected due to which he gained the habit of doing mistakes. He was deteriorated by getting into a bad company. After completing his college and getting degree also, he used to do vagabondage whole day with his friends.

When his parents realised this, it had been too late. They used to remain in this tension that how can they bring Jim on right path and make him a responsible person?

One day when his demand was not fulfilled by his parents, he went off in anger with his friends. He messaged his parents- if my demand wouldn’t be fulfilled then I will not return home.

Reading this message his parents got worried.

In evening, Jim was smoking at park with his friends, then a small boy came and said- Dear brother, my father is very sick, Please give me some money!

Jim and his friends laughed at that boy, and one among them by jesting him, said- What happened to your father? Where is he? Come, show us. Let us also see!

Then innocent boy brought them out of the park, where one weak and feeble labour was diligently working.

Boy with his sad face, pointed towards him, said- He is my father. From last ten days he is suffering from fever, but the medicines prescribed by doctor are too costly for us to buy. It will be a great favour if you help us anyhow.

By listening this, Jim in intense voice, asked- Would you think, asking for little money, you will be able to treat your father in a well-mannered way?

Boy replied in a calm way- My work is to serve my father. He does hard work for us so that our home could proceed, but we don’t have enough money to buy that costly medicines. I will do my best, what would be possible.

By listening this, Jim’s eyes filled with tears, he gave all the money from his pocket and thought- How much this poor boy cares for his father who hardly would fulfil his needs and requirements, but even he is willing to serve him, his parents would feel proud on him; and I’m the one, whose parents never kept deficit of anything, all needs and requirements were fulfilled every time. But I never thought about their happiness, who knows they might also require something!

Thinking this, Jim felt ashamed on himself. At that moment he thought to leave all bad habits and bad company; also advised his friends to walk on right path.

After coming home, he apologized for his bad behaviour and bad habits. That day a new and positive change came in Jim’s life.

Today, Stray revolving Jim is known as a chief manager in a big textile company. When Jim remembers that boy, prays for him, who completely had turned Jim’s life in a right direction.

Today Jim’s parents also feel proud on him.

Dear friends, Sometimes we complaint our parents for our small needs and demands. But friends, our parents heed us more than their capability. They sacrifice their happiness for sake of us. They themselves remain in problem but never let us face any difficulty. If we are not going to understand their pain then who is going to understand them? For us, parents had faced many problems then now it’s our turn to do something better for them so that they could feel proud on us. Thank You.
