Once upon a time, a holy saint with scattered hair and
lean body went to a hermitage of religious- intelligent professor. Professor
was reading some books at that instant.
Saint
asked professor- What are you reading, Will I get some food to eat?
Professor
ridiculed saint by thinking him an untaught beggar and replied-what I’m reading
that is miles away from your thinking. You will never be able to understand
this. I will bring food for you; eat and fill your stomach!
As
soon professor went inside to take food, saint picked up the books and started
to throw one-by-one in nearby lake.
After
bringing food from inside, professor saw that saint was throwing books in the
lake. He came running by rebuked him and brought out all books from the lake. But
all books were dried, not a single drop of water was there. Professor was
shocked after seeing all this.
He
asked saint- How did you do all this, Can you also teach me?
Saint
calmly answered- You will never understand this, you only read books, this is
miles away from your knowledge.
By
listening this, professor realised his mistake and apologized. Professor then
promised not to think his knowledge superior than others, and served saint with
care and dissuades him with respect from his hermitage.
The
knowledge which saint had gained in many years by meditation was impossible to
teach professor, so saint gave him blessings for his bright future and moved
away.
Dear
friends, In our life some moments come when we think our knowledge is better
and superior than others, and think no one else knows it but it’s not so. This
is a human nature, who thinks what we know others don’t. Knowledge is infinite;
its definition can’t bind by certain books so we should also respect and
give importance to others knowledge, and as a seeker we should always remain ready to learn something new. Thank You.
