Daniel was a vegetable-seller, who sold vegetable by
sitting roadside. His son John, after coming from school, helped him in his
work. Daniel belonged to a lower class family, so each and every day they had
to face difficulties.
One day in evening, while returning home from work, John
said to his father- I’m getting tension from bad days of poverty, which are
making our life harder, due to which I’m snapping from inside. Whenever, we try to solve one problem
another arises in front of us. How long are these problems going to last?
Listening his son, Daniel stood up and filled water in
three pots, which he kept on earthen stove. When water boiled-up then in one
pot he kept potato, in second an egg and in third tea leaves.
After some time, Daniel kept aside all the pots from
stove. Boiled potato and egg were kept on a plate while water of tea leaves was
kept in a cup.
Then, Daniel asked john- Tell me, what is all this?
John replied- Boiled potato, egg and tea!
Hearing this, Daniel said- Touch them and feel their
nature.
John picked potato, it was soft; egg was solid; and
from tea water, fresh smell was coming. After seeing all this, John was curiously
seeing to Daniel.
Daniel explained calmly- Potato, egg and tea leaves,
all were kept in boiling water, but everyone faced the boiled water in
different way. Firstly, potato was hard, but in boiling water it became softer.
Egg was pulpy and soft, but in boiling water it became harder; while tea leaves
have its own quality, which completely changed the water and made it so
odoriferous with giving us a fresh pleasant feeling.
Then, Daniel asked John- Now tell me, when
difficulties surrounds you from all sides, then how are you going to face them?
What are you from all three; what you want to be?
John had been known that difficulties check our real
nature, it depends upon us how we become in difficulties. John answered-
Father, in difficulties, I will become like tea so that my natural qualities
will spread all over the world.
Dear friends, Sometimes difficulties are so big
that we give up, but we should face those challenges and never give up. Then
the change in our self will brighten our life and its freshness will spread all
around like tea. Thank You.
