Two Saints and A Rock

There was a saint, who daily early in the morning, after completing his physical activities went beside river, where he did meditation by sitting on a big rock which was different from all other rocks.

One day, after completing his physical activities, he went close to that rock and saw, one new saint was already sitting on that rock in a meditating position.

The old saint waited, so that the new saint would shift from that rock; and then he could start his meditation.

After waiting for long time, when new saint didn’t stand up, the old saint requested him- Hello, I regularly use to sit on this rock and meditate here. Please kindly you occupy another place, so that I could start my meditation.

New saint ignored old saint’s words and kept his eyes closed in meditation.

Old saint again waited for few minutes, he again requested, but then no reply came, so he impatiently picked up new saint’s hand and tried to push him down to the rock.

New saint, due to disturbance in his meditation, got irritated and pushed old saint backwards.

Old saint again repeated his words.

Then, new saint replied angrily- Have you brought this rock? When you are not the creator of this rock then how can you claim for it? Why don’t you go and find another place?

Old saint, after seeing new saint’s attitude, got angry; he also pushed new saint from that rock. Now quarrel between them started and slowly-slowly the quarrel increased, after few minutes they started fighting with each other.

At that time, soldiers of the King were passing by that side; they caught both of them and brought them in front of the King.

King got amazed by listening their conversation, and thought- Why both saints fought for a rock?

King ambiguously said- I’m unable to comprehend, who is saint from you both? You both are fighting like normal human beings so I think, you both are common man, not a saint.

Listening this, both saints got embarrassed and felt guilty on their behaviour.

Both apologized to each other for their behaviour and from that day onwards by inheriting qualities like patience, honesty, forgiveness, mercy, modesty, and immenseness, they became true saints.

Dear friends, Saint is not by look but from his virtue like pureness in thought, sweetness in speech, control on heart, character of forgiveness and mercy. By this saint’s like qualities, one normal human being can also become a saint. Thank You.
