We all are familiar about the bravery of Emperor Chandragupta
Maurya and we don’t need to say about his minister Chanakya’s political diplomacy
and strategy; but even one time, they did mistake and had to face the failure.
Chanakya had taken complete vow to destroy the Nanda
dynasty’s King, named DhanaNanda. He together with Chandragupta Maurya attacked
the capital of Nanda dynasty, named Patliputra; furious war was started between
Chandragupta and DhanaNanda.
To destroy Nanda dynasty was not a very easy task, so Chandragupta
Maurya was defeated.
Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya wandered here and
there in the jungle and in this way they reached near to a hut.
Chandragupta called, and one old lady came from inside
the hut.
Chandragupta asked- Will we get some food?
The old lady was poor but a good and generous person.
She made them to sit inside, then according to her capability served them.
She was unaware that Chandragupta and Chanakya had come
in her hut. She served them a dish, named hotchpotch.
Chandragupta
was too hungry so without waiting, he quickly took one bite and scream- Oh!
It’s too hot.
Old
lady told in a jesting way- Hey son! You are also looking fool like
Chandragupta Maurya.
By
listening his name from that old lady’s mouth, Chandragupta excitedly asked- What
foolishness has Chandragupta done, due to which you are comparing me with him?
Old
lady replied with a smile on her face- Dear son, Chandragupta is also like you,
as you are heady to finish your hunger, same way he is also excited to become King.
If you want to eat then you must eat from surroundings where temperature is
normal, but you are putting your hand in centre of the dish then of course your
hand will burn. Chandragupta is also same; to victory on Nanda dynasty, he
should have to attack on surroundings states of Nanda dynasty but he directly
attacked the Nanda dynasty’s capital Patliputra and had to lose; now he have ran
after losing.
By
listening old lady, Chandragupta realised his mistake and improved It. Chanakya
again made political strategy and by winning surroundings states of Nanda
dynasty, Chandragupta destroyed the whole Nanda dynasty in the end.
