Princely Welcome of Lord Krishna

This story is a part of Mahabharata, which is a great ancient epic.

Lord Krishna went to capital of Kaurava, named Hastinapur, as an emissary of Pandava with the thought of confederacy between Kaurava and Pandava.

When the King Dhritarashtra came to know that Lord Krishna is arriving to Hastinapur, then he started preparations for his princely welcome.

In Hastinapur, the most beautiful mansion was of Dushasana, which had been made vacant on King Dhritarashtra’s order and was decorated in magnificent way for Lord Krishna. It seemed as whole beauty was arising in that mansion.

Duryodhana was neither interested nor had love; but on father’s order, he took part in preparations of Krishna’s welcome.

Lord Krishna’s chariot reached Hastinapur; Duryodhana and his brothers welcomed Lord Krishna at main gate of the capital.

When Duryodhana reached near to the mansion of Dushasana which was decorated for Lord Krishna, he said- Lord, this beautiful mansion has been decorated for you with much importance; come, take rest and refresh yourself.

Lord Krishna said- Duryodhana, Thank you for your pleasant welcome! But I have come here as an emissary of Pandava; and as an emissary, my first religion is that until the work is completed for which I have come, I don’t take anything from other side.

By listening this, Duryodhana felt bad; but controlling his feelings, he asked- Lord, you are our relative also, then why are you not accepting our request?

Lord Krishna replied- Duryodhana, the person who is extremely distraught by hunger, can eat anywhere but who is not hungry, that person accepts the food there only, where he/she sees the love in hearts. Neither I’m distraught for fabulous arrangements nor seeing any love in your heart.

By saying this, Lord Krishna’s chariot moved towards the palace of King Dhritarashtra.

Lord Krishna had not seen that side of Dushasana’s mansion which was decorated in splendid way.

Dear friends, Without having hunger, we eat there, where we get love. Especially God is hungry for love not for earthly pleasures. Thank You.
