Royal Rice Pudding

State-minister of the kingdom of Pepin(King of France) had grown old, so there was the need of new State-minister.

King Pepin organised one competition for the appointment of new State-minister, in which all young scholars of state took part. In that competition, three young scholars were equally succeeded.

King had only need of one State-minister, he thought an idea to organise Royal feast in different days with three scholars so that they would be tested personally and the decision to opt for best State-minister could be done.

First night, Royal feast with first scholar was made. In the last of Royal feast, delicious Royal rice pudding was presented.

After completing his dinner, First scholar ate rice pudding with great fervour; during whole dinner he talked nothing.

In the end of dinner, King Pepin asked- Today’s Royal feast was especially for you, how did you like all this?

He after thinking for a moment, replied in deep tone- That was all right but there was one drawback, see this husk of rice which destroyed the whole taste of rice pudding and Royal feast!

By saying this he remained quiet.

Next night, King with second scholar did the same dinner. This time King intentionally put the husk of rice in the Royal rice pudding.

Second scholar’s compliments were not ending from the beginning to the end of Royal feast. He also ate rice pudding but he didn’t show any reaction about the husk of rice.

Third night, King with third scholar did the same dinner again, this time also King purposely kept the husk of rice in the rice pudding.

Third scholar didn’t say anything from the beginning to the end of Royal feast.

In the end of Royal feast, King asked- How did you like the dinner?

Third scholar replied- Majesty, Royal feast was ultimate savoury but there was one drawback in rice pudding which finally discoloured a little taste of Royal feast; but due to one small husk of rice we cannot neglect the importance of whole Royal feast.
He then told the King about the qualities and weakness of different dishes; also told one new recipe to make rice pudding tastier.

Fourth day the result was to be announced, King appointed third scholar as a State-minister.

Queen was along with the King from the beginning to the end of this competition. After this, she asked the King- My Lord, why did you appoint third scholar as a State-minister while the husk of rice was also perceived by first scholar?

King explained- My Lady, first scholar is detractor, he only criticises. He ignores the goodness, only finds the mistakes and drawbacks, and doesn’t work for the solution of those mistakes. How can Kingdom progress in the hands of that detractor? Second scholar is smarmy; he knows how to straighten his owl, repress the mistakes and only gives importance to goodness. In the hands of that sycophant how can Kingdom progress?
Third scholar is reviewer; he sees both negativisms and goodness; motivates to make the best even better, finds the solution of mistakes and tries to improve them. Like that pure reviewer can only do something good for Kingdom.

Dear friends, Near us there are people who are detractor (critic), sycophant and reviewer. Please give place to reviewers nearby you and your friend circle, because critic and sycophant are not good for anyone. Make the next generation pure reviewer then only Country-Society-Family and we our self can progress. Thank You.
