The Golden Peacock

Every day one poor fruit-seller went to sell fruits in town. He crossed a forest on the way to town, and after passing that forest he reached the town.

One morning walking through the forest, he saw that some people were taking a golden peacock forcefully and that golden peacock was shouting in human language- Help me! Help me!

Listening this, fruit seller went there and started fighting to save the golden peacock, then liberated it from those people.

Those people were angry, so they hit fruit-seller until he was flogged to death; and leaving him in the forest, they again went in search of that golden peacock.

Those people searched a lot that golden peacock here and there in the forest till evening and didn’t got it, finally they went back home.

When those people moved, golden peacock came near to fruit-seller and said- I’m peacock of golden phylum; you have saved my life by sacrificing your life, what can I do for you?

Fruit-seller was counting his last breath, he said- It is difficult for me to live; my home is at short distance from here where my wife and two sons live, if you can do anything for them then please do!

The golden peacock directly went to his home and after telling whole narration, it said to his wife- Your husband sacrificed his life for saving my life; that’s why for your help, every night I will give you my one golden feather.

The one who had passed, never returned back; but by getting one golden feather every night, their financial condition had started to improve.

Golden peacock was also happy to live with them, one day it said- When I will die; you must eat me instead of burning or burying me. Doing this your hair will become golden, and then you will never have to face the poverty.

By listening this, fruit-seller’s wife thought with greediness- Instead of Waiting for one golden feather every day, why not let it kill tonight and eat it.

That night when golden peacock came to give one golden feather; fruit-seller’s wife along with his two sons caught the golden peacock, killed and ate it with greediness by thinking that their hair will become gold.

Till morning nothing happened. They waited for some days, then also when nothing happened they realised that they have done such a big mistake whose value was difficult to redeem.

Indeed the golden peacock told- When I will die, means by natural, not to be killed by someone.

Dear friends, After bad time, good time always come; this is the rule of nature. Good time should be maintained in safe way; we should not do work by getting blind in greed, otherwise good time will not take time to change in Bad time.  Thank You.
