The Wandered Musk Deer

Sudeep was a true businessman, he always thought about his loss and profit, in which work he seemed profit, he did that work only; but his son, named ‘Mohan’, was opposite of him.

From childhood, Mohan had keen interest in prayer and worship of God; he always remained in search of God.

Mohan’s religious nature was the cause of Sudeep’s tension; huge business and son was recluse. Explained very much, gave lust of comfort and wealth; but Mohan’s heart always remained detached from earthly pleasures. After renunciation from all the responsibilities, he wanted to go in any peaceful and calm place to find God.

As Mohan was young, his father did his marriage by thinking that leaving his family, Mohan could have become a monk.

City’s richest businessman’s beautiful daughter was married to Mohan, but then also Mohan’s heart ran anywhere else.

One night, leaving all his responsibilities, Mohan went away from home. He went to all pilgrims, temples, piers and everywhere in search of God, but then also he didn’t find God. All places were filled with earthly pleasures.

Then he decided to do meditation, so he went to dense Jungle of Himalayas. While reaching there he saw one Musk Deer, he observed it carefully for some moments.

Musk Deer has one gland near its navel from which intense smell comes out but Musk Deer is unaware of this fact, so it goes here and there, smells plants and flowers in search of that smell but it doesn’t find that smell which comes from inside of it. It spends its whole life in search of that smell but doesn’t achieve anything.

Mohan thought- Hopefully! That Musk Deer should search peacefully in itself so that it would not need to wander here and there. I should tell him this thing.

Mohan as soon stepped towards it, Musk Deer ran away in fear of any danger.

By seeing this, Mohan understood- My situation is same as that of Musk Deer; I’m also wandering here and there in search of God, whereas God resides inside me. If someone explained to me about God, then I didn’t listen. Running away from my responsibilities, I’m searching that thing which is inside me.

That day Mohan realised his mistake and went back home happily. Then he began to take his responsibilities with full honesty and loyalty.

Dear friends, Sometimes we are also interested in search of God, but remember that God resides in our true work. We should do our work regularly with enthusiasm; this is above all worship, prayer, and also loveable to God. Thank You.
