Real Richness

A rich businessman lived in a city. He used to hate the poor people and had arrogance on his richness. When his son returned back after completing his studies from Oxford University then to show the difference in poverty and richness he took him to a nearby village.

Arriving in the village, he visited with his son the whole village; after that when they were returning home, the father asked his son on the way- Today, you have come to know the difference in richness and poverty; did you see how poor people live?

Son replied- Yes father, I’ve understood who is poor and who is rich. You have shown me the reality by bringing here, otherwise my perception of viewing richness and poverty was different.

Listening this, father’s chest swelled with pride of wealth; he thought that his son had understood his richness nicely. Thinking this, father again asked his son- Ok; now tell me, what you know about the difference between richness and poverty? What have you understand by coming here?

Son answered- Coming here I saw, those people are happier than us. We only have a pet dog, they have many pet animals; we have a small garden in our house, they have huge farm barns; we have one swimming pool but they have the whole river; we have to buy our food but they grow their cereals themselves; we don’t sleep comfortably in the soft-silky mattress but even in the hard bed they take deep sleep comfortably; we go to the gym for weight loss, they are naturally fit and healthy; the air of our A.C. has not such coldness which is in the pure natural air of here; our relationships are attached with money and benefits but their relationships are connected with the heart. Thank you father for bringing me here to feel that richness doesn’t come from wealth and money; they are very rich without having money and wealth.

Listening to the son, father’s arrogance of wealth had been shattered; he had understood that the value of being rich doesn’t depend upon wealth and money; it depends on those small things which are ignored in the shine of wealth and money.

Dear friends, Who has wealth and money has not real richness but real richness is with that who has happiness in life, who is fit, healthy and has sweet family relations. Thank You.
