One
crow daily came to house of a man, named ‘Jin Lon’, who lived near seaside of Rizhao
city (China). Whatever left food was in his home, he used to give it to crow.
In this way, crow was living its life with full enjoyment.
One
morning, a swan came from sky to Jin’s house. Jin and his wife were pleased to
see the swan; they both got into the hospitality of swan and began to make
different dishes for it.
By
seeing hospitality of swan, crow felt jealous. Crow came nearby swan and flouted-
These people are wasting their time in serving you; if you show me the victory
in flight then I will understand that some ability is within you!
Swan calmly
explained- Brother, you will get nothing in competing with me. I will remain
here for some time and then move towards my destination.
Crow
said boastfully- I’m master in flying. I know thousands of methods to fly; you
can’t stand nearby my capability.
Swan
again explained- Brother, I’m miles and miles away flying bird. I have to go
very long distance so I don’t want to waste my time in competing with you.
Crow made
deride of swan- Nothing will happen by big talks, you have fear of losing
that’s why you want to beat me in your talks.
Swan
couldn’t bear its ridicule, so it said- I’m going to Korea by passing the
Yellow sea; who will reach there first, it will win.
After
this, swan and crow flew towards Yellow sea.
Above
sea, crow was flying with full spirit, showing different stunts. Due to fast
fly, crow flew far from the swan.
On
the other hand, swan was generally flying with its speed.
After
some time the strength of crow was over; it was having need of any floor or
tree to take rest but too far off places there was nothing else than water.
Swan
also reached beside crow.
Crow
was so tired and was in situation of falling into sea.
By
seeing this, swan came nearby crow and asked- Oh crow! I’m feeling that your
body is in state of falling into sea. You were saying that you were master in
flying. Do you fly by this method only?
Crow entreated- Dear swan, by seeing your
hospitality I was jealous of you. To denigrate you, I kept competition of
flying. I was foolish, kindly save me!
Swan
felt pity on crow, then laid crow on its back and left it to Jin’s house.
Dear
friends, The boastful person who in showing own self better than others
remains in state of delusion, so we should not boast about own self in front of
others, otherwise we may fall in big trouble. Thank You.
